As the 11th Round of the Audi R8 LMS Cup kicked off at the Macau circuit, qualifying was rocked when Alex Yoong (Malaysia’s former F1 driver) suffered a horrendous crash. Fortunately Alex was unhurt in the incident and came out walking.

This made the race wide open as Alex Yoong who was currently at the head of the driver’s standing is now at risk of being overtaken by number 2 of the drivers standing, Adderly Fong who is only 24 points behind Alex.

Because of the crash, Alex will be out of the final round of the race. Alex Yoong drives for Team Audi TEDA Racing Team, which is also at the top of the team ranking. Other familiar names in the race includes Hong Kong superstar, Aaron Kwok of team Audi Hong Kong Team, who is at 17th place in the driver standing.
