Officially unveiled ahead of the 2014 Los Angeles Motor Show, Mazda has showcased the all new MY16 Mazda CX-3. The new compact crossover SUV will feature Mazda’s signature Kodo design and proven SkyActiv engines.
Jim O’Sullivan, president and CEO of Mazda North America Operations said, “These are heady times for Mazda, with profits and sales exceeding expectations and targets both in the U.S. and globally, CX-3 complements the Mazda lineup, as it perfectly hits the target in a rapidly growing segment in the industry. Customers are shopping for vehicles that are fun to drive, great to look at, fit their busy lifestyles and are an outstanding value, both at purchase and when it comes time to trade it in, making every Mazda a smart choice.”
Depending on market, the new Mazda CX-3 will be powered either by a 1.5-litre SKYACTIV-D diesel engine or a 2.0-liter SKYACTIV-G petrol engine. The Mazda CX-3 will also feature Mazda’s new AWD system (a front wheel drive model is an option). Besides that, it will also feature Mazda’s Connect car connectivity system (MZD Connect in other markets) and i-ACTIVSENSE advanced safety features.
The new Mazda 2 is set to debut in our market some time next year, and hopefully the new CX-3 will follow suit.
