With global crude oil prices continue falling, it comes as no surprise that our local RON97 price drops. This time around, the price of a litre of RON97 has dropped to RM2.55 from the old RM2.75/litre. Do bear in mind that in Malaysia, RON97 prices are unsubsidized by the government (RON95 prices are subsidized).
If that isn’t good news, then perhaps this would cheer you up, as the government is also planning to reduce RON95 prices, if and only if global crude oil prices hovers between RM234 and RM251. Well at this rate, we won’t be too surprised if RON95 prices do come down.
The lower price of RON97 will come into effect from 19 November 2014 onwards.
