Proton R3 victorious at Malaysia Super Series!

Team Proton R3, comprising a Proton Preve and a Proton Suprima S, racing in this year’s Malaysia Touring Car (MTC) category, got the best result of the year as they claimed a 1-2 in the fifth and final round of the Malaysia Super Series (MSS). The No.12 Suprima S R3 race car, driven by Tengku Ezan & James Veerapen, was victorious, followed by the No.11 Prevé R3 race car driven by Syafiq Ali.

The No.12 Suprima S R3 finished the race with a total time of 1 hour, 1 minute and 35 seconds; recording the fastest lap ever in a race by the team at 2 minutes and 37 seconds around the 5.543km track. The No.11 Preve R3 meanwhile finished the race in second place with a total time of 1 hour, 1 minute and 57 seconds.

The 1-hour endurance race saw a total of 16 cars in the MTC Category (1600cc) starting the race, together with the Touring Production category cars. Third place was claimed by No.19 Satria Neo of Team Sakura/Tedco Racing, which also won the MTC 2014 championship. This is also the fourth consecutive time the MTC title was won by the Proton Satria Neo machine.

Both Protons will also race in the upcoming Sepang 1000km endurance race in early December.
