The people in Dubai have pretty much everything fast at their disposal. Sports cars are as easily spotted as Protons on our roads, and even the cops over there drive fast Porsches or Lamborghinis for law enforcement. Now, they have just added the Lotus Evora as ambulance, and it is known as “the fastest ambulance in the world.”
You may be wondering how on earth a small coupe that barely seats two can serve as an ambulance, but it is, in fact, driven by fast responders or paramedics during emergencies. Inside, the Evora is packed with high-tech life-saving equipment; ranging from a defibrillator, first-aid kit and an oxygen tank in the boot. There is even a laptop that allows paramedics to transmit important info to the hospital.
“One second would be the difference between life and death. Anyone who needs to be rescued will care about getting reached in a short time,” said 29-year-old Zaid Al Mamari, a (lucky) paramedic with the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services. 50 paramedics have been trained with that Evora ambulance so far.
The Lotus Evora is not the only sports car that joins the ambulance services, but will be joined by, yes you guessed it supercars like the Ford Mustang and a Chevrolet Corvette. The Lotus Evora ambulance is set to join service by end of this year. We’re just wondering why there’s a Facebook, Instagram and Twitter logo on the doors?
