Queue jumpers and those who always wait for the absolute last minute to exit a highway take note. Normally we don’t share videos of car crashes on AF, but what we have here is relevant to Malaysian motorists, especially for those driving on our highways. There are dangers in overtaking heavy vehicles especially when you are reaching the exit point of the highway. Here’s an example in Belgium where a woman survived a horrible crash to tell the tale of not doing as the title above.
It all happened when that woman driving the Ford Focus at the most left lane on a four-lane highway, had overtaken a lorry on her right before cutting over three lanes to exit. In an instant, she miscalculated her move when she couldn’t see a separate lorry on the right lane which was stationary. That car, a Ford Focus, hit the back of that lorry before being hit by another lorry, which recorded the whole accident.
That crash landed driver, 25-year old Jasmien Claeys in a coma with two broken vertebra and a shattered hand. Despite that, she is reportedly to be “recovering exceptionally well.”
Let it be a lesson for all to plan your destination and never, ever cut across a few lanes on highways. Afterall, driving smart works better than driving a car with 5-star NCAP rating.
