A special radar-gun to catch drivers texting while driving?

PDRM

We have reported a few times on AF that using the phone for texting or taking a “selfie” while driving on the road is extremely dangerous. But soon law enforcement officials could put an end to this, thanks to ComSonics’ latest innovation of a radar gun that detects the radio waves from an active phone inside a car.

Receiving emails, talking to the phone via Bluetooth and texting via the phone use different frequencies, and thus the new radar gun will able to differentiate these frequencies through phone signals and radio waves. It may sound like rocket science, but this device will allow law enforcement agencies to nab those culprits who are texting while driving. However, it remains to be seen if the device and differentiate if it was the passenger or driver who was the one texting.

The device is now “close-to-production”, and hopefully in the near future our police can be equipped with one of these as well. Don’t say we didn’t warn you the next time you get a summon for texting while driving!
