The Italian police have the Huracan, the British have the Ariel Atom 3.5R and the cops at Dubai probably have every supercar in the world. With the abundance of muscle cars in the United States, it’s logical to see the Americans using muscle cars as part of law enforcement. Just recently, Dodge previewed the all-new Dodge Charger Pursuit, the ideal vehicle to serve and protect the Americans.
Cops can choose either the standard 3.6-litre 292bhp V6 or the 5.7-litre Hemi 370bhp V8; the latter should be an instant choice for the cops! The car is able to accelerate from 0-100km/h in 6 seconds flat and can return fuel consumption of 11.05km/l, when the four-cylinder mode is enabled on the V8.
Both cars are rear-wheel drive, with an optional all-wheel mode available for the V8s. A performance oriented suspension was fitted, together with goodies such as load-leveling NIVOMAT shocks, heavy-duty ABS brakes, stabilizer bars, 18-inch performance tyres on steel wheels and two-mode electronic stability control (ESC).
On the inside, there’s a state-of-the-art mobile command center and power distribution center that can be used to channel appropriate power to the camera, computer systems and siren. There’s even an optional ballistic door panel for added protection for the front doors and steel inserts for the front seats are available.
The mean looking and advanced Charger Pursuit should make Americans think twice before consider outrunning them or breaking the law!
