As Apple has updated their CarPlay site, it seems that 8 more carmakers have pledged their support for Apple’s CarPlay, in car entertainment system.
The new 8 carmakers are as follows.
- Abarth
- Alfa Romeo
- Chrysler
- Dodge
- Fiat
- Jeep
- Mazda
- Ram
They join an already increasing list of car makers who have initially pledged their support but are also a group which are part of the Open Automotive Alliance. It doesn’t come much of a surprise because most carmakers would like to ensure that they can support multiple platforms to reach a larger customer group.
Also part of the CarPlay group are aftermarket system builds, Pioneer and Alpine. Pioneer has already some what of a product that is almost ready to go as the rest of us who aren’t buying new cars wait for the aftermarket players to incorporate this new technology into existing cars.
