The popular Suzuki Swift is now available in an ‘RS’ variant that’s benefited from a splash of colour and ‘tech’ goodies!
The new variant of the Swift model delivers the same performance as the current Swift (not to be mistaken with the Swift Sport) but with more bells and whistles on board. It features an eye catching black and red rooftop, side body decals, stylish red lining on the body-kit with an additional rear spoiler, LED Daytime-Running Lights, 16-inch ‘gun metallic’ aluminium-alloy wheels and the RS emblem to complete the look. In case you’re wondering, RS stands for ‘Reinvent Style’.
Inside you’ll be able to find sporty black and red bucket leather seats and red stripe side-door trims. That’s not all, this latest variant also features a built-in satellite navigation with reverse camera, Bluetooth system with microphone, and True Mirroring with Smart phone (additional items required). Other standard features worth mentioning are LCD display dashboard, telescopic steering wheel, keyless transmitter and push-start system and dual SRS air-bags.
The Suzuki Swift RS retains the same powertrain as the current Swift model. The K14B 1.4-litre petrol engine is capable of producing 93hp and 130Nm of torque, mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. Despite its racy and sporty appearance, no manual gearbox will be offered with the RS variant.
The Suzuki Swift RS is now available with an on-the-road price of RM79,388 (without insurance) for Peninsular Malaysia. The RS is RM5,600 and RM13,500 more expensive than the Swift GL and the Swift GLX variant respectively. It also comes with 3-years warranty or 100,000 km (whichever comes first), with the exception of the RS rooftop sticker which only carries 2-years warranty.
