Continental Tyre PJ Malaysia has officially launched its new Generation 3 truck tires, which comprises of the Conti Hybrid HS3, the Conti Hybrid HT3, Conti Heavy Drive Regional 2+ and the ContiUrban HA3. Each tyre was designed and engineered to work on different axle, and was developed for Asian roads.
Starting with the Conti Hybrid HS3, this is a steer axle tyre that features improved casing and strong steel cord strength for better retreadability. In addition to that, the new straight outer grooves also improves steering feedback. Furthermore, stone ejection and heat endurance have also been improved over its predecessor. According to Continental, the Conti Hybrid HS3 is suitable for vehicles that travels through regional roads and major highways, including container haulers, auto carriers, hazmat tankers, general and container cargos.
Secondly, Continental also launched the Conti Hybrid HT3, which is aimed specifically for the trailer axle. The new tyre features an improved tread pattern for better wear and a high value casing for better retreadability, potentially multiplying the tyre’s live. The Conti Hybrid HT3 is suitable for the same vehicles as the Conti Hybrid HS3.
Designed for city buses to travel through narrow streets, curbs and stop-and-go traffic, the Conti Urban HA3 features a new dedicated urban tread compound with a greater tread width, which allows the new tyres to deliver up to 20% more mileage and 2% better fuel economy than its predecessor. Also, the wider tread ribs, high-density interlocking sipes and enhanced wet braking performance allows for better cornering stability under various weather conditions.
Last but not least, Continental Tyre PJ also unveiled the HDR2+, which is designed for regional and long-distance driving, suiting for goods carrying application. The new tread design and specialized wear resistant compound allows the HDR2+ drive axle tyre to provide another 25% more mileage than its predecessor.
The new Generation 3 tyres are available in all popular sizes used in this segments. The steer axle tyre, the Conti Hybrid HS3, is available in the size of 295/80R22.5, while the Conti Hybrid HT3 trailer axle tyre is available in the size of 11R22.5. The Conti Urban HA3, on the other hand, is an all-axle fitment tyre that is available in sizes of 275/70R22.5 abd 11R22.5. Lastly, the HDR2+ drive axle tyre is available in sizes of 11R22.5, 295/R80R22.5 and 315/80R22.5. All these truck tyres are manufactured in Continental’s plant in PJ. The new tyres are now available at CTM dealerships nationwide, including BestDrive, Continental, Dunlop Klinikar and Viking Stores. Fleet owners can also purchase these tyres directly.
