Proton has extended the deadline for submission of entries for Proton Design Competition 2015 to 17th September 2015.
According to the automaker, the design competition has been extended to provide the contestants, especially for secondary school students, additional preparation time while they juggle between the festive holidays and exams.
The students for Category 1 and participants in the Open Category (Category 2) can visit the company’s corporate website here for the full terms and conditions of the competition.
Participants can also obtain tips and download the entry form from the website, apart from obtaining it from Proton showrooms nationwide. Proton says, photocopies of entry forms are acceptable and no purchase is necessary to enter the competition.
As mentioned in our previous post, the Proton Design Competition this year carries a new theme called, “Design A Concept Car For The Malaysian Family”.
The competition consists of two categories; Category 1 – Secondary School and Category 2 – Individual. Secondary school students, aged between 13 – 17 years old can send their entries in a group of 3 people and the submission must be made under their school name. The individual category on the other hand, is open to those aged 18 years old and above. A maximum of 3 entries is allowed for each group participation and individuals.
All participants are required to design the exterior of the car, according to the theme and submit the development sketches and renderings. If the participant has the advantage of using design software, they can also submit a 3D digital visualisation of the exterior. Additional to this, participants for Category 2 must submit the interior vehicle packaging diagram for occupants and engine layout, and the illustrative renderings of the interior of the car. 3D digital visualisation of the interior is also welcomed. All sketches and renderings must be on A3 size paper and cannot be mounted, laminated or bound together.
For the entry to qualify, participants must also provide a Design Brief in an A4 size paper containing not more than 350 words, the title of the design, the design concept and the unique selling proposition of the car.
