Road Rage: Was this really necessary?

So the motoring community and especially the ‘on-line’ motoring community was rocked to its foundations yet again today when a video of a woman driver who went absolutely bonkers because of a minor fender-bender in Kuantan went viral. Unfortunately, the ugly incident was captured on video and uploaded onto a Facebook as well as YouTube (link below).

More than 10,000 ‘shares’ have been recorded as of today, and countless ‘memes’ have surfaced from the incident. Let’s analyse what happened. One car knocks into another, and regardless at that point who’s at fault, the normal course of action is to get out, exchange details, take a few photos and then proceed to the nearest police station to make a report within 24-hours.

Instead, the lady driver gets out armed with a ‘baseball-bat’ type steering lock and begins to verbally abuse the elderly driver of the other car. During the course of the verbal assault she repeatedly strikes the other car, a Toyota Corolla, with said steering lock.

Was this necessary? Definitely not. Violence is never the answer, and all things considered, we feel she’s very lucky that the elderly man was so calm and collected throughout the ordeal. Had she met someone a tad more off-kilter in the brain and temperament department, things could have gotten much uglier in a hurry.

In the last 24-hours, social media sites and various websites have covered this incident in lurid detail, prompting a Telco to offer to pay for the damages that both cars incurred, as well as the irate woman driver to apologise to the elderly gentleman.

No, this is NOT the new Peugeot logo, it’s just one of the countless ‘memes’ that have appeared online since the incident in which the irate woman driver was in a 208…

The problem is, ALL this could have been avoided if she’d simply kept her calm, like the old man, and proceeded with the proper way to handle an accident. It’s an accident, these things happen. Unfortunately though, the authorities are treating this as a road-rage incident a.k.a. road bullying, and are investigating.

Get this, she may not have been at fault in the first place, but thanks to her actions, she probably is now. On a more positive note though, car accessory shops across the nation have recorded booming sales of the item below… (we’re kidding)

A small matter just became the hottest news in the nation. Link to the video below, if you’ve not seen it countless times already.
