Do you remember the Honda EV-STER hybrid roadster (picture above) previewed at the 2013 KLIMS last year? That prototype subsequently became the Honda S660, which made its debut at last year’s Tokyo Motor Show. If you are smitten with the idea of driving a small, but environmentally friendly roadster then here’s a good news for you!
A report from a Japanese website indicates that the S660 is officially set to begin production at Honda’s Yokkaichi Works subsidiary. The revealed specifications indicates that the S660 will be propelled by a small 67bhp 660cc turbocharged unit, mated with a CVT gearbox. The car weighs less than 907kg so this is clearly a “kei-car” that would bring smile to keen drivers!
The S660 is slated for launch in 2015. If previously Honda managed to sell the Civic Type-R in Malaysia before its local launch (making us the only foreign selling market by Honda), then there is a slight chance that the S660 will arrive in our local shores in the future too, fingers crossed!
