The new 3008 SUV’s manageable dimensions at 4,365mm long and 1,837mm wide is complemented by the Dynamic Bi-Xenon Advanced Lighting System. Adopting the latest stylistic codes of the marque, the 3008 affirms its character and its qualities with force: high-quality and contemporary style, strength, comfort in all situations, and driving sensations with the ability to adapt.
The character of the front face has been completely redesigned by incorporating a stylish new grille and fog lamps emerging from the bodywork. The dynamic bi-xenon headlights with LED are surrounded by chrome, which makes for a more tranquil drive with automatic height and directional adjustment. The new LED tail lights feature the signature three floating claws.
Beyond the considerable developments in its occupant protection, the 3008 comes with a wide-ranging set of technological equipment for improved safety. The Peugeot Park Assist comes with 10 sensors at the front, front-sides and rear allowing for effortless parking while the Available Space Measurement (ASM) assesses the size of the potential parking space and informs the driver whether or not it is possible to park in the available space. It also evaluates the level of difficulty of the manoeuvre. The reverse camera automatically activates when reverse gear is engaged and allows the driver to view the area behind the vehicle while the manoeuvre is taking place.
These features are in addition to the 6 Airbags, Hill Start Assist, Electronic Safety Program (ESP), Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), Anti-Skid Regulation (ASR) and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) to improve handling in difficult driving conditions. As a result, the 3008 achieved a full five-star rating from EURO NCAP. The passenger compartment proves to be a new source of surprise and attraction. For instance, the high resolution 7” Multi-Function Folding Colour Screen with Navigation retractable colour screen displays the interface for the audio-navigation, the trip computer, the front and rear parking assistance and the image filmed by the reverse camera.
The various parameters of the coloured head up display are managed by the Toggle Switches which are controlled easily by the fingertips. The coloured ‘head-up’ display shows key information on vehicle speed and if selected the speed limiter or cruise control. For immediate reading, each function is now presented in full-colour: white for the vehicle’s current speed, orange for the speed limiter and green for the cruise control.
Other features include USB and Bluetooth connectivity, auto electric parking brake, automatic dual zone air-conditioning, six-speaker system, premium luxury leather seats, driver seat lumbar and height adjustment and flexible 8 way electric driver seat. The ergonomic high-seating position especially gives a feeling of safety and security by increasing the visibility of the open road.
The spacious 512 litres boot size can be further enlarged with the Smart One touch 60/40 foldable rear seat bench that gives 1,604 litres of flat fold space. The five modes of Multiflex Interior serve as this SUV’s best utility feature in its segment. The New 3008 SUV rides on new lightweight 17” diamond cut alloy rims.
Under the hood, the New 3008 SUV comes equipped with a 1.6 Turbo with Variable Valve Timing that produces 163hp and 240Nm of torque. The engine is matched to a six speed auto adaptive gearbox with Tiptronic and Sport mode functionality. It can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 9.5 seconds and has a top speed of 202 km/h. The fuel efficiency of the New 3008 SUV on a combined drive cycle is rated at an impressive 7.7 litres per 100 km.
The front suspension features Independent MacPherson struts with drop link anti-roll bars whereas the rear suspension is outfitted with Deformable U-shaped cross member axle located by two arms and a hollow anti roll bar. This directly benefits the precise handling and comfort levels. Whether cornering or in a straight line, accelerating or braking, the New 3008 SUV remains composed.
Available in five exciting colours – Pearl White, Nera Black, Aluminium, Rouge Red and Bourrasque Blue, the New 3008 SUV is currently on display in showrooms nationwide with an on-the-road price of RM153,888 with insurance.
