The new Mazda5 C-MAV (Compact Multi-Activity Vehicle), has finally arrived on our local shores with an on-the-road price of RM153,019 without insurance.

Whilst retaining the eye-catching “Nagare flow” exterior design and the overall good sense and high practicality of the previous generation, the latest Mazda5 is now equipped with SkyActiv technology, SkyActiv-G, SkyActiv-Drive and I-Stop.

Although it looks compact on the outside, its long wheelbase and wide treads results in a spacious cabin with room for six adults. In the second row, occupants can enjoy 270mm slide adjustment for their seats, allowing passengers to get ample legroom. To give you maximum versatility in arranging the seats to suit your passengers and luggage, second-row seats are double-folding while the third-row seat features 50:50 split folding seat-backs. There are also plenty of storage options to keep your stuff and the third row seat benefits from separate air-conditioning with climate control.

Apart fromt that, the new Mazda5 also inherits the 6+One packaging concept that includes the central walk-through passageway, the hideaway ‘Karakuri’ seventh seat, Karakuri utility box and the diversity of seating arrangements.

Other features of the Mazda5 worth mentioning include steering wheel mounted audio control, leather wrapped gear knob and steering wheel, navigation system, sunroof, power sliding door and rain sensors.

Power comes from a 2.0-litre in-line four-cylinder engine that produces 149hp and 190Nm or torque combined with a SkyActiv-Drive 6-speed automatic gearbox. The newly-developed control module executes smooth gear shifting besides improving fuel efficiency. As a result, the Mazda5 returns 6.6-litres per 100km.

Available in four colour choices; White Pearl Mica, Meteor Grey Mica, and Jet Black Mica, the new Mazda6 is now available for viewing at all Mazda showrooms nationwide.
