Ford Malaysia recently announced its best-ever April performance with retail sales jumping nearly 35% year-over-year to 1,173 units. The April performance was driven by continuing demand for its Ranger, Fiesta, Focus and Kuga nameplates, reports the Blue Oval company.
The class-defining all-new Ranger pick-up continued as Ford’s most popular nameplate in Malaysia with retail sales rising 38% year-over-year to 646 units. Year-to-date sales for the Ranger now stand at 2,365 units, up 37% from a year ago.
Increasing demand for the significantly updated new Fiesta helped drive its April retail sales up more than 20% year-over-year to 301 units. Ford expects the recent launch of the new Fiesta 1.0L EcoBoost to help further drive sales momentum through the remainder of the year.
Continued demand for the all-new Focus helped drive year-to-date customer deliveries to 427 units, including April sales of 113 units.
The technology-packed all-new Ford Focus is equipped with a number of segment-first features that include Active Park Assist, Active City Stop and Blind Spot Information System, as well as a class-leading safety package.
The all-new Kuga SUV achieved April retail sales of 87 units, helping drive its year-to-date total to 301 units.
Apart from that, Ford continues to expand its nationwide dealership network to enhance customer convenience across the country, including the recent opening of a new, full-service dealer facility in Klang. The company remains on track to reach 50 authorised Ford dealer locations across Malaysia by year-end.
