First batch of Formula E cars delivered to teams

The 10 Formula E teams have received their first cars on schedule! The cars were delivered during the opening of the new Formula E headquarters in Donington Park, UK. All teams received one unit of Spark-Renault car initially, ahead of the start of pre-season testing at Donington on July 3-4.

Series chief Alejandro Agag said: “In September 2013 we launched this incredible fully-electric 150mph car and after more than 3000km of rigorous testing we’re delighted to be now handing them over to our 10 teams.”

“To change the perception of electric cars we need to improve the technology. The UK is the best place to do that.”

The FIA Formula E championship has attracted over 20 drivers and so far team Virgin and Abt has officially announced their drivers. The first inaugural race begins in Beijing, China in September with Putrajaya, Malaysia plays host for the second race in October.
