Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has recently announced that the new CLA 45 AMG Edition 1 has finally arrived in Malaysia!
Available in two variants, the new CLA 45 AMG is priced at RM 392, 888 with Light Aluminium Trim and RM 395,888 with AMG Carbon-Fibre Trim.
The Edition 1 is powered by an 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a maximum output of 360hp and up to 450Nm of torque. The power density of 181hp per litre puts the AMG high-performance turbo engine on par with the world’s most powerful super sports cars.
The high output and torque is coupled with the AMG 4MATIC all-wheel drive fitted as standard and AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission. This makes for extremely dynamic performance as the CLA 45 AMG completes the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h (electronically limited). With a fuel consumption of 6.9 litres per 100 kilometres (NEDC combined).
And just like all the AMG eight- and twelve-cylinder engines, the new AMG 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo engine is assembled entirely by hand with the AMG engine badge bearing the signature of the AMG engineer responsible for it.
Apart from that, the CLA 45 AMG incorporates sophisticated axle technology. For enhanced dynamic handling, the McPherson front axle is fitted with stiffer steering knuckles and new elastokinematics. The four-link rear axle is also a completely new development. Handling stability and precision are enhanced by the optimised elastokinematics and the rigid connection between the subframe and the body. The AMG sports suspension with specifically tuned spring/damper units and larger anti-roll bars provides for high lateral acceleration and a reduced rolling tendency in fast double bends.
The Edition 1 combines special equipment features that sets its apart from the standard four-door coupé. For instance, it is fitted with AMG front and rear aprons and side sill panels in combination with the black-painted multi-spoke AMG light-alloy wheels. The diamond radiator grille in silver features a black louvre and chrome inserts and bi-xenon headlamps comes as standard, as is the sports suspension with lowered body.
Trim elements in longitudinal-grain aluminium and a 3-spoke nappa leather multifunction sports steering wheel with a flattened lower section and perforations in the grip sector all round off the vehicle’s dynamic presence.
