At the 2014 Beijing Motor Show, Volkswagen has unveiled an exclusive concept car called the Golf Edition. This concept car honours the Golf, of which more than 30 million units were sold, making it one of the most successful automobiles of all time.
This concept car comes equipped with a special “Magic Morning” paint job with a golden shimmer, exclusive “Madrid” 19-inch alloy wheels, matt chrome mirror caps and a badge on the B-pillars showing an engraved laurel wreath with the number “40” to mark 40 years of the Golf’s existence.
Meanwhile, the extensively customized interior is dominated by the two-tone leather upholstery mixing bright “St. Tropez” with “Black” hues. The centre panels up to the headrests are done in “St. Tropez” with diamond-shaped stitching, with the seams carrying a brown hue in contrast to the bright “St. Tropez” colour. The side and outside surfaces of the front sports seats are covered with black leather, with brown leather piping in “Sevilla” forming the interface between the bright “St. Tropez” and the “Black” surfaces.
The three-seat rear bench is designed in the same style as the front sports seats, with the two outside seating surfaces in the rear giving the impression of exclusive individual seats. The wood inlays in the door trim panels and in the dashboard on the passenger’s side contrast with the high-gloss piano black décor of the centre console, the instrument surrounds and the trims around the air vents. Finally, the floor mats adopt the diamond pattern of the seats, while the door sill plates are equipped with ambience lighting.
Although VW didn’t mention whether the Golf Concept will become a reality, it looks pretty much like a production car to us, what do you think?
