Forget that Toyota Camry you are about to buy, here is a better offer. KITT, or the Knight Industries Two Thousand is up for sale at Julien’s Auction. Only thing is that this is a replica of KITT which was created by fans and gifted to David Hasselhoff. So that means David himself is auctioning off this beauty.
Now if you were born after 1990, you would be wondering what the heck this is. This, is actually a 1982 Pontiac Trans Am which has been modded with the scissors door and with lots of gadgets inside. Did I mention that it also had it’s own TV series called, Knight Rider?
Fitted with a w-style yoke steering wheel and an elaborate digital dash and console, this screams retro and old school because in today’s technology, everything is on a single screen with touch screen capabilities. So a little bit more about the car, it is rear-wheel drive and has a 5.0 V8 engine powering it and runs with an automatic gearbox.
What you also do get is 4000 programmed sound bites from the TV show so expect snide and sarcastic remarks coming once in a while. The current bid as of now is USD$27,500 so some true fans think it can hit around USD$30,000 to USD$50,000.
