Mercedes-Benz has introduced the SL400 luxury roadster, a model replacement for the Mercedes-Benz SL350.
In contrast to its predecessor, the SL 400 is not fitted with a naturally aspirated engine. Instead, it boasts a 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder unit with two turbochargers that is capable of producing 333bhp and 480Nm of torque – 27bhp and 110Nm more than the SL350 it replaces.
The Euro 6-compliant engine is coupled to a 7-speed automatic transmission and enables the roadster to perform the 0-100 km/h run in 5.2 seconds and reach an electronically-limited top speed of 250 km/h.
Aside from the powertrain, the SL400 comes equipped with Frontbass system that transforms the luxury sports car into a concert hall, when the top is up and down, and the Magic Vision Control wipe/wash system that takes water from the wiper blade to the windscreen as required and irrespective of the direction of wipes.
The new Mercedes-Benz SL400 will go on sale in Germany with a price tag of 97,282.50 euros (incl. 19% VAT).
