There will be two new teams set to join Formula One (F1) in 2015, with an entry from the United States and another possible entry from Serbia set to join the pinnacle of motorsports. This marks the first time in five years that new team entries have been seen in F1.
F1 supremo, Bernie Ecclestone confirmed the expected news that an American outfit led by Gene Haas has been accepted, and revealed that a 13th entry, rumoured to be led by ex-Formula 1 team boss Colin Kolles, has also made it into the list. However, Ecclestone explained that the “other” entry will make it depending if they are able to afford it. That team is likely to be Stefan GP, the team whose bid in 2010 failed. Haas meanwhile has a successful team running in NASCAR in the United States. This could see a possible American driver in F1 in 2015.
2015 will mark an interesting year in F1 following Honda’s return as an engine supplier to the McLaren team. Hopefully, the dreadful front ‘noses’ seen in the majority of this year’s cars will be eliminated as well.
