Hyundai Motor Malaysia (HMY) has previewed the new Hyundai Staria Prestige, a flagship variant of the Korean MPV set to officially debut in Malaysia soon. This marks part of HMY’s initial model rollout, which includes three SUV and MPV offerings – alongside the all-new Santa Fe and the facelifted Tucson.
Visually, the Staria Prestige stands out with Brass Chrome accents – a distinctive touch exclusive to the seven-seater variant. These premium highlights are applied to the front grille, side mirrors, door handles, and badges, giving the MPV a more luxurious road presence.
The signature “One Curve” silhouette remains unchanged, offering a futuristic, streamlined look. Other exterior features include full LED projector headlamps, LED turn indicators, and Parametric Pixel-style LED tail lights at the rear. It rides on 18-inch machine-finished alloy wheels.
Inside, the Staria Prestige continues to offer high-end features aimed at passenger comfort. Key highlights include the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 8-inch infotainment touchscreen and two zone climate control. Two-zone climate control (front and rear).
Additionally, the seats are covered in Nappa leather upholstery and it features dual sunroofs. The 12-speaker Bose sound system enhances the audio in the cabin. In the second row, Premium Relaxion seats offer power adjustments, integrated leg rests, and seat ventilation, underscoring the MPV’s lounge-like comfort.
Under the hood, the Staria Prestige retains the 2.2-litre CRDi four-cylinder turbodiesel engine, delivering 177 hp and 430 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. Performance figures are expected to stay the same, with a 0–100 km/h time of 12.4 seconds and a top speed of 185 km/h.
While pricing details are still under wraps, the Staria Prestige will go on sale soon, with the official launch happening soon. Stay tuned for full specifications and pricing when the model is formally introduced.
