BMW R 1300 GS Adventure Lands in Malaysia With A Starting Price Of RM148,500

BMW Motorrad Malaysia has officially launched the all-new BMW R 1300 GS Adventure at the Malaysian Auto Show (MAS) 2025, and it’s already turning heads with its mix of rugged performance, high-end tech, and premium touring capabilities. Priced from RM148,500 for the base Racing Red variant, the Triple Black and Style GS Trophy editions are tagged at RM153,500, while the range-topping Option 719 Karakorum comes in at RM164,500.

Built for the Long Haul

This adventure bike is made for the serious explorer. With a newly designed 30-litre aluminium fuel tank, the R 1300 GS Adventure promises longer rides between fill-ups, ideal for cross-country touring. Cross-spoked wheels with aluminium rim rings back up its off-road prowess, while the chassis has been completely overhauled for more stability and control.

The new setup includes a steel sheet metal main frame combined with an aluminium lattice tube rear frame, adding rigidity where it counts. Paired with the advanced EVO Telelever front and EVO Paralever rear wheel guides, riders can expect sharper steering and greater stability on both tarmac and trails.

Smarter Suspension and Ride Comfort

A major upgrade comes in the form of the Dynamic Suspension Adjustment (DSA), which actively tweaks damping in real time based on riding conditions. It doesn’t stop there—the bike also gets adaptive vehicle height control as standard, automatically adjusting height to ensure optimal comfort and handling whether you’re riding solo or fully loaded.

The comfort seats for rider and passenger are standard too, making long-distance journeys easier on the body.

Lights, Tech, and Safety

In terms of visibility, the R 1300 GS Adventure doesn’t compromise. It features Matrix LED headlights with Headlight Pro, which adjusts dynamically for better visibility on corners and tough terrain. Add in LED auxiliary lights and integrated LED indicators, and you’ve got a bike that’s hard to miss, day or night.

Tech-wise, there’s a 6.5-inch full-colour TFT display offering real-time data on speed, fuel, and ride modes. For the sportier riders, a Sport screen shows extra details like lean angles, traction behavior, and braking stats, including a racing-style rev counter.

Powerhouse Boxer Engine

At the heart of it all is a new 1,300cc twin-cylinder boxer engine—BMW’s most powerful production boxer ever. Producing 145hp at 7,750 rpm and 149Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm, it’s more compact than before, thanks to a new camshaft setup and repositioned transmission.

The Dynamic Package is standard across all trims and includes Riding Modes Pro: “Rain”, “Road”, “Eco”, “Enduro”, “Dynamic”, “Dynamic Pro” and “Enduro Pro”. A sports brake system comes standard as well.

Another highlight is the Automated Shift Assistant (ASA), which automates gear shifts and clutch control for a smoother ride—standard on the Style GS Trophy, Triple Black, and Option 719 variants. The Racing Red version instead features Shift Assistant Pro.

Touring-Ready and Packed with Safety

Every variant includes the Touring Package: chrome-plated manifold, main stand, nav prep, case holders, and an electrically adjustable windshield. On the safety front, standard features include Dynamic Traction Control, Engine Drag Torque Control, Hill Start Control, Dynamic Brake Control, and Full Integral ABS Pro.
