Toyota is doubling down on adventure with the reveal of the bZ4X Touring – a new, tougher variant of its all-electric SUV that’s set to hit European roads in spring 2026. This new trim isn’t just about looks – it brings tangible upgrades in design, performance, and practicality, transforming the familiar bZ4X into a more capable and estate-like crossover.

Bigger, Bolder, and Built for the Outdoors
What sets the Touring apart is its stretched and lifted profile. Toyota has added 140 mm to the overall length and raised the height by 20 mm, giving the Touring a more estate-inspired silhouette with SUV-like ground clearance. The result? A crossover that not only looks more substantial but also leans into the utility side of the spectrum.

Rugged design cues are present throughout. Extended plastic cladding wraps around the underbody and fenders, emphasizing its off-road credentials. Chunkier roof rails have been fitted to support outdoor gear and rooftop storage, while redesigned LED taillights and a more muscular rear bumper enhance the visual stance. The all-black alloy wheels and a new Brilliant Bronze paint finish add a refined, adventurous edge.
More Room for Gear and Tech to Match
The Touring’s upsized exterior pays off in cargo space too. Boot capacity now measures 600 litres – a significant jump of 148 litres over the standard model – making it far more suitable for long-distance trips and outdoor hauls. Inside, the Touring carries over the updated cabin layout from the refreshed bZ4X, including a generous 14-inch infotainment screen and a new rotary gear selector housed within a reworked centre console. An exclusive City Moss interior trim adds a touch of personality not found in other variants.
More Power Under the Hood – Well, Under the Floor
Underneath its rugged exterior, the bZ4X Touring shares its DNA with the Subaru Trailseeker. Both are built on the e-TNGA platform and come equipped with a new dual-motor AWD system. Unlike the earlier bZ4X AWD, which used motors of differing output, the Touring features two identical electric motors – a setup that improves symmetry and off-road traction. Together, they deliver 376 hp, making this the most powerful EV in Toyota’s lineup to date – a noticeable jump from the 338 hp offered by the previous AWD model.
Power continues to come from a 74.4 kWh battery pack, with support for 11 kW AC charging and rapid 150 kW DC fast charging. While official WLTP figures haven’t been announced, the increased power output and larger body suggest a slight trade-off in range compared to the base bZ4X.
Launch Plans and Global Perspective
Toyota has confirmed that the bZ4X Touring will go on sale in Europe starting spring 2026, with the UK among the first markets to receive the model. For those across the Atlantic, this adventure-ready EV will be marketed as the Toyota bZ Woodland in North America, arriving around the same time.

With its blend of estate versatility, SUV toughness, and EV performance, the bZ4X Touring is shaping up to be a compelling choice for those looking to go electric without sacrificing outdoor capability.
