Toyota Launches GR Supra Track Edition And GR Yaris Automatic In Malaysia

UMW Toyota Motor has just turned up the heat on its Gazoo Racing lineup, dropping not one, but two serious performance machines: the GR Supra Track Edition and the GR Yaris Automatic Variant. Both models promise to bring more power, sharper handling, and a whole lot more attitude to Malaysian roads.

Let’s start with the big gun — the GR Supra Track Edition which comes with a price tag of RM698,000. Already a legend in Toyota’s GR family, the Supra now comes even more track-ready, with a beefed-up chassis, tighter handling, and aerodynamic tweaks for serious confidence when pushing the limits.

Under that long, sculpted bonnet is a 3.0-litre inline 6-cylinder turbocharged engine punching out 388 PS and 500 Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic with paddle shifters. Quick? You bet — 0-100 km/h takes just 4.1 seconds with the auto, and 4.3 seconds if you’re rowing your own gears.

But it’s not just about brute force. Adaptive Variable Suspension has been retuned for even grippier cornering, while the Electric Power Steering and Limited Slip Differential get exclusive Track Edition settings. Add in big 374 mm front Brembo brakes, reinforced control arms, carbon fibre aero parts, and lightweight 19-inch matte black forged wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres, and you’ve got a machine built for real-deal track days.

Inside, the cabin keeps things focused with black Alcantara and leather, red seatbelts, GR-stitched upholstery, and a red-ringed manual shifter. A 12-speaker JBL HiFi system and a head-up display round out the high-spec cockpit.

Safety? Sorted — Toyota Supra Safety Suite comes standard with all the good stuff like Pre-Collision Warning, Lane Departure Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, and more.

Switching gears, the GR Yaris also gets a new twist. The rally-bred rocket that first landed in 2021 now comes with a slick new option: an 8-speed GAZOO Racing Direct Automatic Transmission. Built with input from Toyota’s WRC team, this auto box isn’t your everyday slushbox — it’s lightning-quick, reading your throttle and brake inputs to deliver gearshifts that feel telepathic.

The GR Yaris keeps its powerhouse 1.6-litre three-cylinder turbo engine, still belting out 300 PS and 400 Nm, good for a 5.2-second sprint to 100 km/h. For the automatic variant, Toyota has bolted on a full cooling package — extra radiator, intercooler spray, and a trick transmission cooler — so the fun doesn’t fizzle out even in Malaysia’s heat.

You also get Launch Control to fire you off the line with max traction, plus motorsport-calibrated paddle shifters that feel properly race-ready. Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 keeps it smart and safe, with Pre-Collision Assist, Lane Tracing, Radar Cruise Control, and an “Expert Mode” that dials back assists for more hardcore driving.

The GR Yaris Automatic Variant rolls in at RM325,600, bringing rally thrills to a wider crowd.
Both beasts are now up for grabs at GR Garage dealerships nationwide, with a five-year unlimited mileage warranty thrown in — because great driving should be loud, proud, and shared.
