Bermaz is making the most of its prime spot at 1 Utama’s Oval this week. After launching the updated 2025 Mazda MX-5 there yesterday, the spotlight now shifts to something unexpected and rather exciting – the Mazda 3 Concept.

This sleek hatchback isn’t just for show. Built by Bermaz’s in-house MazdaSports Division, the Concept is more than a styling exercise – it’s a strong teaser for a sportier Mazda 3 variant in the pipeline. It also throws back to the Mazda 3 MS Edition from 2016, now reimagined with sharper looks and more driver-focused tweaks.
Hot Hatch Looks, No Extra Horses (Yet)
Let’s talk visuals first. This isn’t your standard Mazda 3 Liftback. It’s got serious attitude. Sitting on matte gunmetal Enkei Tuning SC22 alloys, it wears a custom piano black bodykit, complete with an oversized spoiler and beefy MS-branded exhaust tips. Flashes of red and a bold ‘3’ graphic give it that motorsport edge without going full boy-racer.

Under the skin? The engine’s untouched, but MazdaSports didn’t stop at cosmetics. There’s a proper MS-branded strut bar under the bonnet, Endless Super Street S-Sports brake pads for better stopping power, and some reworked suspension tuning. Bermaz claims the tweaks offer sharper handling without sacrificing comfort.

Inside: Suede, Red Accents, and MS Pride
Step inside and the upgrades continue. The front seats now rock suede inserts and a red centre stripe, echoed on the steering wheel for that sporty flair. The MS emblem is stitched in too, reminding you this isn’t your average family hatch.
Hinting at What’s Next?
While the Mazda 3 Concept isn’t hitting showrooms just yet, it’s clearly pointing to a production-ready sporty version in the near future. And with Bermaz referencing the OG 2006 MS Edition, there’s every chance something official is cooking.

For now, the model range sticks with the 2.0-litre engine (162 hp, 213 Nm), following the 1.5-litre’s exit in late 2023. But could this MS Concept bring the smaller engine back as a more budget-friendly performance option? We’re crossing our fingers.
Where to See It
If you’re keen to check it out in person, the Mazda 3 Concept will be on display at 1 Utama’s Oval until this Sunday. After that, it heads up north to Penang’s Queensbay Mall from 16–20 April.
Mazda’s clearly having some fun again – and we’re here for it. Thoughts? Would you rock an MS-tuned Mazda 3?
