Porsche Malaysia is celebrating its 15th anniversary with a bang, unveiling the refreshed 992-generation 911 Carrera and 911 Carrera 4 GTS. Both models are now officially on sale and will be turning heads at The Exchange TRX Mall from 11–13 April.

Let’s talk money first—because these aren’t your average Sunday cruisers. The rear-wheel-drive 911 Carrera kicks off at a cool RM1.43 million, while the all-wheel-drive 911 Carrera 4 GTS rolls in from RM1.89 million.
Meet Porsche’s First Road-Legal Hybrid 911
The big story here is under the skin of the 911 Carrera 4 GTS. It introduces Porsche’s new T-Hybrid tech—lifted straight from motorsport. Instead of the usual twin-turbo setup, there’s now a single electric turbo with no wastegate. It spools up instantly thanks to a clever electric motor placed right between the compressor and turbine. No lag, just go.

That same motor also doubles as a generator, pulling back up to 11 kW of energy from the exhaust. Meanwhile, another electric motor sits inside the updated 8-speed PDK gearbox, ready to kick out 150 Nm of torque and a 40 kW boost, even when you’re just rolling off idle. It’s all powered by a 1.9 kWh high-voltage battery that’s roughly the size of a regular 12V, with a separate lithium-ion unit running the car’s standard systems.

The GTS also gets a beefed-up 3.6-litre flat-six engine with more bore, more stroke, and way more grunt. On its own, it delivers 485 PS and 570 Nm. But throw in the hybrid system, and you’re looking at a total punch of 541 PS and 610 Nm—up 61 horses over the old one.
The Carrera Isn’t Left Behind Either
The “regular” 911 Carrera still packs serious heat. Its 3.0-litre twin-turbo flat-six has been given the GTS treatment with turbos and an intercooler borrowed from the Turbo variant. Output sits at 394 PS and 450 Nm, which means 0–100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and a top speed of 294 km/h. Not too shabby for the base model.

Sleek on the Outside, Smart on the Inside
Visually, the facelift is subtle but effective. Porsche’s tweaked the bumpers and tucked in matrix LED headlights to allow for larger air intakes. On the GTS, you get active aero features like adjustable front flaps and underbody diffusers that change depending on how hard you’re pushing it.

Round the back, the new light bar is cleaner and wider, blending into a fresh rear grille that flows into the rear window. The number plate sits higher now, while new exhaust tips sit snug in a bold diffuser. A sport exhaust is standard for the GTS and optional on the Carrera if you want that extra bark.
Step inside and it’s all about the driver. Key controls—drive modes, assistance systems, and the start button—are now grouped around the steering wheel. There’s also a cooled wireless charging bay in the centre console for your phone.
The driver display is now fully digital, curved, and 12.6 inches across with up to seven layout options, including the classic central tach. Next to that is a 10.9-inch touchscreen running an upgraded PCM system that’s slicker, smarter, and more customisable than ever.
Smarter Tech, Better Connections
Porsche’s upped its tech game with tighter Apple CarPlay integration, letting you control some car functions via Siri and mirror content onto the driver display. Built-in Spotify and Apple Music support comes standard, and if you’re parked, you can even stream video straight from the central screen.

The Carrera is available as a coupé with rear-wheel drive, while the Carrera 4 GTS brings the all-wheel-drive grip—both using Porsche’s superb eight-speed dual-clutch PDK gearbox.
Bottom line? If you’re after old-school Porsche character mixed with bleeding-edge hybrid tech and modern digital flair, this new 911 duo delivers the goods—just be ready to pay for the privilege.
