G-Pilot: The Next-Level Intelligent Driving System

Geely-owned Zeekr has just dipped its toes into the advanced driver assistance ring with G-Pilot, a cutting-edge system packed with LiDAR sensors and a jaw-dropping 1,400 TOPS of computing power. Designed to take on heavyweights like Huawei and BYD, G-Pilot promises a whole new level of intelligent driving.

Breaking It Down: What is G-Pilot?

Officially launched on March 18, Zeekr’s G-Pilot isn’t just one system—it’s a tiered suite of intelligent driving solutions. If that sounds familiar, it’s because BYD’s God’s Eye (DiPilot) system follows a similar structure. However, Zeekr’s system is actually a part of Geely’s broader G-Pilot technology, meaning we might see it pop up in other Geely-owned brands in the future.

While Zeekr hasn’t spilled the full details on all the G-Pilot variants yet, Geely’s G-Pilot lineup already consists of five levels: H1, H3, H5, H7, and H9. Naturally, the higher the number, the more advanced the tech. During the big reveal, all eyes were on the top-tier G-Pilot H9—Zeekr’s most advanced system yet.

G-Pilot H9: Power, Precision, and Next-Gen AI

The flagship G-Pilot H9 doesn’t hold back. It features dual Nvidia Drive AGX Thor chips, pumping out an insane 1,400 TOPS (Trillion Operations Per Second)—more than double the computing power of BYD’s top-tier God’s Eye A (DiPilot 600), which maxes out at 600 TOPS.

Hardware-wise, the H9 packs 13 cameras, 3 mm-wave radars and Multiple LiDAR sensors.

This cutting-edge setup enables industry-first features like the General Automated Evasion System (G-AES), which enhances real-time obstacle avoidance, and Full-Capacity Vehicle-to-Parking (V2P) for effortless automated parking.

Plus, it boasts a map-free Navigate On Autopilot (NOA) function, complete with an AI-powered parking spot search—no pre-loaded maps required. The H9 is also L3-ready, meaning it’s poised to deliver a high level of autonomous driving once regulations allow.

First in Line: The Zeekr 9X SUV

The first car to roll out with G-Pilot H9 will be Zeekr’s upcoming flagship 9X SUV, built on the brand’s ZEEA 3.0 architecture. This full-size luxury SUV will make its debut at the Shanghai Auto Show in April, with sales kicking off in Q3 2025. Zeekr is also planning an ultra-luxurious 9X Grand edition, which will start north of 1 million yuan (approx. $140,000 USD).

G-Pilot H7: A More Accessible Smart Driving Experience

For those who don’t need the full-blown H9 experience, Zeekr will also offer G-Pilot H7, a LiDAR-powered system featuring 1 LiDAR sensor, 11 cameras, 3 mm-wave radars and Dual Nvidia Orin X chips (508 TOPS)

The first model to feature G-Pilot H7 will be the sleek Zeekr 001 liftback, which will also support the G-AES system for enhanced driving intelligence.

Is Zeekr About to Shake Up the ADAS Game?

Zeekr’s G-Pilot system is shaping up to be one of the most advanced ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) on the market. With top-tier computing power, cutting-edge AI, and an emphasis on real-world usability (like map-free navigation), it’s clear that Geely and Zeekr are gunning for the top spot in the intelligent driving race.

Will G-Pilot be the system that finally gives BYD and Huawei a real run for their money? We’ll find out soon enough. But one thing’s for sure—Zeekr isn’t playing around.
