Zeekr 9X Grand: An Upcoming Hybrid Powerhouse

When one hears the name Zeekr they think about EVs. But now, all of that is changing as the Geely owned company is adding plug-in hybrid power to the mix. Enter the Zeekr 9X Grand, a flagship SUV that’s set to take on the big guns like the SUV segment .

With a price tag of around ¥1 million (RM 650,000), this beast is expected to hit Chinese roads this autumn, following its grand reveal at the Shanghai Auto Show in April. And to whet our appetites, Zeekr has just dropped some teaser images and a winter-testing video.

Big, Bold, and Seriously Luxurious

While Zeekr is keeping exact dimensions under wraps, one look at the 9X Grand’s towering presence is enough to tell you it’s a proper full-size SUV. It’s square-jawed, imposing, and built to dominate the road. If you suddenly spot one filling up your rear-view mirror, you’ll know who’s boss.

Design-wise, the 9X Grand takes cues from luxury legends, blending elements of the sleek sophistication and stately grandeur. Flush door handles keep things smooth, while double-deck headlights and a bold grille (likely inspired by the Zeekr 009 minivan) give it a futuristic edge.

Plush Interior, Cutting-Edge Tech

Inside, expect first-class levels of space and comfort, though good luck squeezing this monster into a standard parking bay. Thankfully, advanced driver-assistance tech, including Lidar sensors, will make parking and highway cruising a breeze.

Plug-In Hybrid Power with EV DNA

Zeekr has built its reputation on pure EVs, but after merging with Lynk & Co, it’s tapping into some serious PHEV expertise. While exact specs are still under wraps, industry whispers suggest a high-output petrol engine working alongside at least two electric motors.

That means electrifying acceleration—expect a 0-60 mph (97 km/h) time under 4 seconds—and an all-electric range of at least 60 miles.

The Future of Luxury SUVs?

The Zeekr 9X Grand is shaping up to be a game-changer in the luxury SUV world, merging hybrid power, high-end comfort, and cutting-edge tech. With its Shanghai debut just weeks away, all eyes are on Zeekr to see if it can truly shake up the segment.
