Proton e.MAS 7: High Demand Sparks Bigger Production Plans

The Proton e.MAS 7 has been making waves in Malaysia’s automotive scene since it launched last December, and it’s safe to say the hype is real.

Due to overwhelming demand, Proton Holdings Berhad has decided to ramp up production of their first electric vehicle (EV), adding another 3,000 units to the assembly line.

Initially, Proton had offered a limited launch package for the e.MAS 7 to 3,000 customers.

But with bookings surpassing that figure in less than a month, they’ve extended the package to an additional 3,000 buyers, bringing the total to 6,000 lucky owners.

Record-Breaking Demand

Proton’s Deputy CEO, Roslan Abdullah, revealed that the company had set a modest goal of 3,000 bookings for the e.MAS 7 over six months. But they hit that target in record time of one month, highlighting Malaysians’ growing interest in EVs.

“Demand is rising, reflecting the public’s acceptance of EV cars,” Roslan said as reported by Bernama

He also added that in three to four years people would prefer in using Evs and the demand for Internal Combustion Engines (ICE) would drop.

He also emphasised the e.MAS 7’s appeal to tech-savvy buyers who are eager to adopt cutting-edge automotive innovations. “What matters most is the nation’s progress towards zero-carbon mobility and sustainability,” he added.

Competitive Pricing with a Sustainable Twist

One of the reasons the e.MAS 7 is catching so much attention is its pricing. Proton has kept it competitive, with prices similar to their popular X50 and X70 models.

The special launch package sweetens the deal even further, offering a RM4,000 rebate that brings the starting prices down to RM105,800 for the Prime variant and RM119,800 for the Premium variant (Peninsular Malaysia pricing).

Perks Galore for Early Adopters

Apart from the price cut, the first 6,000 customers get a bunch of exclusive extras, making the deal even more irresistible. Here’s what’s included:

  • Free Home Charger: A complimentary 7 kW home wallbox charger worth RM1,500.
  • V2L Adaptor: A free Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) adaptor valued at RM500.
  • Unlimited Internet: Up to 5 years of unlimited internet worth RM1,800.
  • Trade-In Rebate: An exclusive additional RM1,200 rebate for Proton owners trading in their current vehicles.

A Step Towards Sustainability

With EV demand on the rise, the e.MAS 7 is helping Malaysians take a step closer to zero-carbon mobility.

Proton is confident that this momentum will continue as more buyers embrace the shift to sustainable transportation.
