Buckle up, folks! The highly anticipated Proton X50 Sport Edition, first teased at KLIMS 2024, is being unveiled today, 16 January.
And guess what? You can catch the live virtual unveiling on Proton’s official Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube channels at 9 PM. Don’t miss it!
This limited-edition marvel is a real showstopper, with only 1,000 units up for grabs. Sporting an edgy new look, the X50 Sport Edition flaunts an aggressive bodykit featuring a bold red front splitter, sleek side skirts, and racy rear spats.
Wrapped in a striking black finish, it ditches the usual satin chrome for a gloss black grille surround and tailgate garnish. And if that’s not enough, a vibrant red shoulder line stripe adds an extra layer of sporty sass.
Sitting on 18-inch ten-spoke gloss black alloy wheels, this beast steps away from the usual top-spec two-tone alloys found in the Premium and Flagship variants.
These wheels give a nod to the lower-spec Geely Binyue but with a style all its own. To top it off, a gleaming chrome “Sport Edition” badge on the tailgate ensures everyone knows you’re driving something special.
Step inside, and you’ll be greeted by premium touches like door sill scuff plates and a Qi wireless charger, adding a dash of luxury to your daily drives.
Under the hood, the X50 Sport Edition is powered by the trusty 1.5-litre turbocharged inline-three engine, cranking out 150 PS and 226 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission.
While it doesn’t come with the advanced driver assistance features from the Flagship variant, such as autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane centring assist, it still offers a thrilling ride for the sport spirited.
