When electric vehicles (EVs) began gaining widespread popularity, they created opportunities for companies from various technological sectors to enter the car manufacturing business.
One such unexpected entrant was Xiaomi, the renowned electronics and smartphone brand.
To commemorate its 15th anniversary, Xiaomi recently unveiled a limited-edition colour for its first EV model, the Xiaomi SU7.
The new shade, called Brilliant Magenta, marks the tenth colour option for the vehicle.
This striking hue perfectly complements the car’s design, standing out as a rare and bold choice in the automotive world.
The Xiaomi SU7 originally debuted in 2023 with three colour options: Mineral Grey, Verdant Green, and Aqua Blue.
Over time, the palette expanded with the addition of six shades including the Meteor Blue, Radiant Purple, and Lava Orange in 2024.
The introduction of Brilliant Magenta further enriches the collection, showcasing Xiaomi’s commitment to offering unique and eye-catching designs.
In addition to the new colour, Xiaomi has launched a themed smartphone design inspired by the SU7. This design, available for free on the Xiaomi Theme Store, features custom wallpapers and icons that reflect the car’s aesthetic.
The Xiaomi SU7 has been a resounding success, with sales surpassing the company’s initial target of 100,000 units by mid-November 2024. Building on this achievement,
Xiaomi has announced its second EV model, the Xiaomi YU7, slated for release in the summer of 2025.
The YU7 will also include a new crossover variant, expanding the brand’s EV offerings.
Looking ahead, Xiaomi’s plans for 2025 are ambitious. The second phase of its car factory is set to launch, significantly boosting production capacity and enabling the company to meet growing demand.
Furthermore, Xiaomi is planning to produce a three motor model known as the SU7 Ultra sedan.
Xiaomi’s innovative approach and bold entry into the automotive sector continue to capture attention, setting the stage for an exciting future in sustainable and diverse mobility solutions.
