Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC), the sole distributor for Ford in Malaysia, recently sponsored the Ford Ranger Owner’s Club Kuching (FROCK) for its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Telok Melano, Sematan.
The full-day AGM saw the usage of a 34 Ford Ranger convoy, of which two were sponsored by SDAC to ferry 70 club members and their families. The meet consisted discussions on the club’s plans for the year which comprised plans to further engage more Ford Ranger owners in Kuching. Activities including telematches, gymkhanas and other fun games for children were also organised.
“Club members and their activities truly represent the Ford Ranger lifestyle. We believe such collaborations is a win-win situation for both dealership and owners in the long term. We hope to help these close-knit support groups get more enjoyment out of their ‘Build Ford Tough’ truck, and at the same time engage with more customers through experiential marketing opportunities that such programmes offer,” said Syed Ahmad Muzri bin Syed Faiz, Managing Director, Sime Darby Auto Connexion.
“We truly appreciate SDAC’s support in this event. Through involvements like this, members and owners can gain more in-depth knowledge about their vehicles in terms of capabilities, servicing and maintenance, which help us understand our trucks more. With future collaborations, we hope to organise more events that will further develop the owners’ community,” said Encik Muhammad Afrin Mat Saruan, Club Secretary for the Ford Ranger Owners’ Club Kuching.
Officially registered in 2015, FROCK currently consists of 80 members who are mostly based in Kuching. The club organises at least four to five events each year with the aim to foster closer collaboration with SDAC-Ford that will forge deeper knowledge about the Ranger and offer more value-added activities for its members.
SDAC-Ford continues to be committed in maintaining close relations with car club members by supporting the network of various Ford owners’ clubs through close collaboration that provide opportunities to foster deeper mutual understanding and camaraderie.
