The Ford Everest from RM228,888

Ford Motor Company, together with its local distribution partner, Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC) today launched a strengthened version of its Everest mid-size SUV, taking its capability, efficiency and safety to the next level with stunning off-road and on-road performance, advanced technology, bold design and even more refinements to interior comfort.

“The new Everest further raises the bar in the SUV segment and will build on its widening appeal in the market,” said Truong Kim Phong, Managing Director, Asia Pacific Emerging Markets, Ford Motor Company.

“We are excited for our customers to get behind the wheel of the new Everest, and experience first-hand the ultimate pleasure the new Everest provides on any adventure,” said Syed Ahmad Muzri Syed Faiz, Managing Director, Sime Darby Auto Connexion.

Efficient, capable and savvy

The new Everest continues to fulfil its role as a highly-advanced, technology-led SUV, with upgraded driver assistance, equipment levels and dynamics that allow it to move nimbly around town yet remain a force to be reckoned with off-road.

New features that include hands-free power lift gate, SYNC® 3, keyless entry and push-start button enhances driver convenience. The hands-free power lift gate, a feature that opens and closes the lift gate, provides enhanced convenience. If your hands are full, a simple wave of your foot under the rear bumper opens the liftgate automatically.

SYNC® 3 with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility is now standard across the Everest range, and comes with Bluetooth, 10 speakers, and an 8.0-inch full color touchscreen. SYNC® 3 enables use of Waze and Google Maps and has improved voice recognition, helping drivers to stay connected and safe by keeping their eyes on the roads, hands on the wheel.

Keyless entry and push-start button are now standard across the new Everest range, offering customers quicker engine starts, improved convenience and easier entry and exit.

The new Ford Everest also retains the popular advanced driver assistance technologies that enable drivers and passengers to enjoy extraordinary journeys with confidence, including:

  • Cruise Control with Adjustable Speed Limiter
  • Multi-intelligent Instrument Cluster – allowing drivers to view what features Everest is using at any time with just a glance
  • Terrain Management System – giving the vehicle the capability to tackle any challenging terrain
  • Electronic Stability Control
  • BLIS – Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert
  • MyKey®

Functional design and clever comfort

The Everest’s rugged design has been refined with a new grille treatment incorporating a secondary grille texture against the Everest’s chrome brightwork. The Everest Titanium features a 20-inch split-spoke alloy wheel design, while darker wheel accents further accentuate the machine cut surface of the alloy, adding more drama and a more premium appearance.

Inside its spacious cabin, a new ebony interior delivers a premium experience. Soft-touch surfaces in contact points around the cabin improve comfort and quality, while the new ebony interior theme brings greater depth and allows brightwork, contrast stitching and shadow chrome highlights to stand out more strongly than before.

Additionally, in the new Everest Titanium, extra space is available at a press of a button including eight-way power front seats and power-fold third-row seating, giving more than enough space for all your weekend equipment and travelling needs.

The new Everest does not compromise on safety. With seven airbags, the Everest Trend and Titanium provides a network of protection including front seat driver airbags, passenger airbags, seat-mounted side airbags, side-curtain airbags, and even an airbag for the driver’s knee.

State-of-the art powertrain

Ford’s new-generation 2.0L Bi-turbo diesel engine is coupled with an advanced 10-speed automatic transmission to deliver power of 213PS (157kW), improved flexibility and a quieter, more comfortable drive. With 500Nm from a low 1750rpm, the Bi-Turbo delivers greater torque spread, with the 10-speed’s close ratios reduce gaps in power and acceleration to make steep, slippery hill-climbs much easier in your Everest Titanium.

“The new 2.0L diesel engine and 10-speed automatic raises the bar when it comes to vehicle refinement and outright capability both on and off road” said Chief Program Engineer, Ford Everest, John Willems.

The new Everest’s enhanced off-road capabilities are matched by its manners on-road, delivering a significantly smoother, quieter passenger experience. All models take advantage of revised suspension geometry, which improves Everest’s ride and handling for greater composure on- and off-road.
