After the accident in which Walter Huang, an Apple engineer, tragically died when his Tesla Model X crashed into a highway attenuator which was already damaged prior to the accident, Tesla came out to say that autopilot mode was indeed turned on at the time of the crash.
Another Tesla owner using his Model S with the latest updated patch tried to recreate the situation and faced exactly the same situation in which many believe caused the accident to occur. Thankfully in the video above, the driver managed to stop the car in time before anything bad happened. Still, it goes to show that what Tesla has said that the autopilot system is a driver assistance and definitely not something where a driver can rely on 100% of the time.
