Tesla set themselves a target of 5,000 units of Model 3 to be produced a week but so far since November, they have been having issues. In Q3 last year, they delivered less than 1000 units and by the end of Q4, they only managed to deliver 1,550 units. Not per week but for the whole quarter.
However recently, Tesla says that they managed to hit their stride by achieving more but still far away from their intended 5,000 a week target. This has been an issue with Tesla as they find to resolve more and more production bottlenecks in order to meet the pre-orders customers placed.

“As we continue to focus on quality and efficiency rather than simply pushing for the highest possible volume in the shortest period of time, we expect to have a slightly more gradual ramp through Q1, likely ending the quarter at a weekly rate of about 2,500 Model 3 vehicles,” Tesla wrote. “We intend to achieve the 5,000 per week milestone by the end of Q2.”
The Model 3 is meant to be the affordable Tesla for the masses and everyone is looking to Tesla to deliver. Overall, production numbers seem to disappoint from Tesla as other models also face strong orders but slower delivery schedules.
