Bigger, Bolder, Wider and Longer! Coming to you from the PICC or Putrajaya International Convention Centre, our second national car-maker Perodua has just taken the wraps-off the new MyVi!
You’ve seen the leaked images that we posted earlier, so here now are the official photos from Perodua themselves, including the official price list: The All-New Myvi Pricelist
The above car is kitted out with Perodua’s official “Gear Up” accessories package, and for the full listing of that, check this out:
The new MyVi is 205mm longer, 30mm lower, 70mm wider, and has a 60mm longer wheelbase than its predecessor, and is said to be 32% more fuel-efficient (more than 20km/L) to boot. Standard across the range are LED headlights with follow-me-home function and leveling, as well as LED combination rear lamps.
One of the biggest plus points to the new MyVi has to be the added active safety features which include ‘first-in-price-segment’ Pre-collision Warning / Braking, that alerts the driver if the car in front has suddenly stopped and applies the brakes automatically if the system senses that the driver has failed to react.
On the flip-side, this system also has a reverse benefit called Pedal Misoperation Control, that suppresses the engine if the driver has mistakenly selected ‘D’ instead of reverse, and there’s an obstacle in front, like a wall. Pretty cool!
There’s also a system called Front Departure Alert, which tells the driver that the traffic in front has moved-off. Especially handy for those who like to play with their phones in a traffic jam. You’ve seen them, the cars have moved-off but there’s always one (or more) who hasn’t noticed, holding everyone up…
The good news is that all variants, both 1.3 & 1.5 will come with ABS, EBD, Vehicle Stability Control and Airbags (6 for the 1.5, 4 for the 1.3)
Boot space has been upped to 277-litres and there are new colours too, from the Peppermint Green (below, 1.3 only) to Granite Grey (1.5 only).
