In an eventful race where world championship driver, Lewis Hamilton, crashed out of qualifying had to race all the way from the back. This led to the eventual win for Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel with Mercedes’ Valtteri Bottas hounding him from the rear for 71 laps at Interlagos. Still, overall, Lewis Hamilton who had to start from the pit lane almost clinched the last podium spot but that went to Kimi Raikkonen of the other Ferrari car.
Max Verstappen, the young driver came in fifth and teammate Daniel Ricciardo of the Red Bull Racing team came in 6th. Felipe Massa came in seventh in a spectacular fashion as he celebrates his last race here at Brazil. It was an emotional time for the Brazilian as he says his final goodbye.
Although Vettel may have won the race, Hamilton, not bothered by his recent win climbed his way through the field. He almost beat Raikkonen who just finished 0.8s ahead of Hamilton.
The other hero was Daniel Ricciardo who spun off on the first lap after being hit in the rear by Stoffel Vandoorne who was hit by Kevin Magnussen. Both the McLaren and Haas drivers retired after that tussle but Ricciardo managed to make it out enough to chase up to the pack.
