Honda to supply engines to F1 Team Scuderia Toro Rosso

Honda and Scuderia Toro Rosso recently announced that the two parties reached an agreement on the supply of power units from the 2018 season of the FIA Formula One World Championship (F1). Based on this agreement, for the 2018 season, Honda will supply power units to one works team to be formed with Toro Rosso.

This announcement comes after the fact that McLaren is ditching Honda to supply them with engines for the next season. That didn’t hamper Honda’s ambitions as they also signed up Sauber to supply them with the power units in the 2018 Formula 1 Season as well.

“Everyone in our team is very much looking forward to working with Honda,” said Franz Tost, Team Principal of Scuderia Toro Rosso. “Honda has a long history in Formula 1, dating back to 1964 when it first entered the sport with its own team and, as an engine supplier it has taken five Drivers’ World Championship titles and six Constructors.”

Scuderia Toro Rosso is currently in 6th place in the 2017 Formula 1 Season with 52pts, ahead of team Renault and behind Williams Mercedes.
