UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) has announced that order-taking for the new Toyota Camry and Toyota Corolla Altis has commenced from 5th Sept 2017. Both models are now available with a wider range of optional accessories which can be specified at the time of ordering the cars.
For the new Camry, the improvements made are new trim materials with all four variants having upgraded carbonwood trim with brown stitching on the dashboard. The new Camry 2.5HV Luxury additionally offers new Kogane leather seats (‘kogane’ means gold in Japanese) with the following optional accessories – USB charging ports and auto-fold wing mirrors, are available for all variants. For selected variants, a Panoramic View Monitor (PVM) is now available as well.
As the flagship of the Toyota range in Malaysia, the Camry offers status, luxury, comfort, power and technology. The top variant is the Camry Hybrid with a 2.5-litre Hybrid Synergy Drive for high performance without sacrificing fuel efficiency.
The new Corolla Altis can now be ordered with additional optional accessories that improve convenience while bringing the additional technological features to owners. The available optional accessories are two USB charging ports so mobile phones and other personal devices can stay charged on long journeys. Also available are Autofold door mirrors which now automatically fold when the vehicle is locked by remote (optional for Corolla Altis 1.8E only). And available to all variants are the illuminated scuff plates on the front and rear doors.
The Digital Video Recorder (DVR), also an optional accessory, is manufactured to Toyota’s high quality standards. It provides audio and video recordings of each drive for memories or to use in the event of an unlikely incident. The Panoramic View Monitor (PVM), another optional accessory, utilises small cameras around the car to provide a 360-degree view of all sides, making parking easier. The clear images enable the driver to see the road and spot obstacles that may damage the car, or even small children or animals that may not be visible through the rear view mirror.
There is no increase in prices of the new Camry and Corolla Altis. On-the-road prices (without insurance) for the Camry range start from RM148,600 while for the Corolla Altis, they start from RM117,400 with three grades available.
As with all Toyota models distributed by UMWT, the Camry and Corolla Altis come with a 5-year warranty with unlimited mileage. For the Camry Hybrid, the warranty coverage for the hybrid battery pack is up to 8 years for peace of mind of the owners.
A Showroom Weekender event will be held at all Toyota showrooms nationwide from 15 Sept where test-drives of the Camry and Corolla Altis can be done. The locations of showrooms can be found at toyota.com.my or by calling the Toyota Freephone at 1800-8-TOYOTA (869682).
