Introduced in October last year with a variant that featured a Brushed Aluminium fuel tank, BMW Motorrad Malaysia today introduced a new variant of the BMW R nineT Scrambler that now features a Monolithic Metallic Matte Fuel Tank.
The BMW R nineT Scrambler commands a classic silhouette through iconic proportions principally marked by the boxer engine, a compact sheet fuel tank, and a fine filigree rear. The motorcycle also features a classic speedometer with analogue display in the instrument cluster integrated into its front section. Meanwhile, key information such as time and trip distance can be viewed from a dual-row LCD display.
The BMW R nineT Scrambler comes with a longitudinally mounted 2-cylinder boxer engine of which power transmission via universal-shaft drive has been emblematic to BMW motorcycles for more than nine decades. With a capacity of 1,170 cc, the distinct air/oil-cooled boxer engine has a peak output of 110 hp and the maximum torque of 116 Nm goes on stream at 6,000 rpm, with a maximum engine speed of 8,500 rpm. Meanwhile, suspension has also been refined with the introduction of a fully adjusted front fork derived from the BMW S 1000 RR.
Aside from that, the BMW R nineT Scrambler has had its engine mapping redefined to meet the requirements of the EU4 pollutant class. Its fuel consumption stands at 5.3 litres per 100 kilometres. Concurrently, tank ventilation is improved with the introduction of a carbon canister in the fuel system.
The revised price (on the road without insurance, inclusive of 6% GST) of the BMW R nineT Scrambler is RM86,900.
