Reigning Formula One world champion, Sebastian Vettel, has another distinctive habit apart of showing his signature victory finger – naming his F1 cars with female names. For this year, he continues his tradition by naming this year’s Red Bull car – Suzie.

Vettel is set to drive “Suzie”, the RB10 car prepared by defending champions, Team Red Bull Racing, in the first F1 race in Melbourne, Australia. As seen in the recent F1 tests, the RB10 struggled behind rivals.

Vettel admitted that “‘Suzie’ has plenty of catching up to do, however, with Red Bull struggling to string laps together in pre-season testing while their Mercedes-powered rivals showed impressive reliability.”

Sunday’s race marks the start of a new turbo era in Formula One, with a 1.6 litre V6 engine and energy recovery systems replacing the old 2.4 litre V8s.

Meanwhile, the list below shows the history of names given by Vettel on his previous cars from Team Red Bull Racing, with some name choices raising a few eyebrows. Last year’s RB9 was named after German supermodel, Heidi Klum.

RB9 (2013) – Hungry Heidi
RB8 (2012) – Abbey
RB7 (2011) – Kinky Kylie
RB6 (2010) – Luscious Liz, Randy Mandy (after minor damaged spotted in Monaco)
RB5 (2009) – Kate, Kate’s dirty little sister (after crash in Melbourne)
