Ducati unveiled its 2014 MotoGP livery during a special Audi Group ceremony in Munich, Germany. The Italian team has enlisted the riding services Cal Crutchlow and Andrea Dovizioso for this year’s MotoGP challenge. Crutchlow’s #35 is in yellow with Dovizioso’s #04 in white.
Still seeking for success in the MotoGP category, Ducati has enlisted Cal Crutchlow to replace Nicky Hayden, and the team transitioned from Factory to Open Class bikes, a move which the Italian team has hoped will provide some change of luck to challenge Honda and Yamaha from the factory class.
Both Crutchlow and Dovizioso will see in action in their new liveries for the first time during the first practice for the season-opening Qatar round, on March 20 2014.
Crutchlow said “The reality is, it is difficult to challenge the riders in the top four, or even the top five or six, but you never say never, and I think our bike will go well at certain circuits. I feel we are better than what we look at the moment, but we need to improve the bike to be competitive every week, not just at one or two races because we take an advantage.
“My goal is to bring Ducati back to the front and to be there week in, week out, not just to be competitive at one or two races. I think we are heading in the right direction.”
Ducati Corse general manager, Gigi Dall’Igna, has revealed that Ducati plans to offer Open class MotoGP machines for sale to privateer teams for next season.
