F1: Williams unveils striking liveries with Martini sponsorship

It seems the resurgence of once Formula One great, Williams F1, has gained momentum as they have officially unveiled the 2014 livery, which confirms famed Italian drinks maker, Martini, is now the title sponsor for the Grove-based team. This also marks Martini’s return to F1 sponsorship since the 60’s. With that, the team has been rebranded as Williams Martini Racing. Also revealed was that the team will have three or more separate liveries this season, so livery will change depending on which country.The Martini logos are one of the most recognized and respected logos in motorsports.

“We are thrilled to welcome Martini to the Williams family and officially launch Williams Martini Racing,” said Sir Frank Williams, Founder and Team Principal of Williams.

“Williams and Martini share a rich history in the world of motorsport, and the values of our two brands and our shared passion for racing make this partnership a natural fit. It will be great to see the distinctive stripes of Martini Racing return to Formula 1 once again in unison with Williams.”

The team will be spearheaded by the driving services from Brazilian veteran, Felipe Massa, and Finnish driver, Valtteri Bottas, with Felipe Nasr and Susie Wolff carrying out development and reserve duties. The latter is also set to become’s the first female in decades to return to F1 as Wolff is set to drive during Friday’s practice in this year’s British GP.

After many tumultuous years in F1, this year is set to be a resurgence for Williams F1 as the team clocked impressive times during the previous test in Bahrain. The team also ditched the Renault engines for Mercedes units this year. The team is still seeking their first win in 17 years.
