Ford Motor Company and Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC) recently announced that the Transit commercial van will be officially launched at local showrooms nationwide in early April.
The Ford Transit is being assembled at Sime Darby’s Inokom facility in Kulim, Kedah, and marks the re-start of assembly operations for Ford in Malaysia.
A proven workhorse with over 7 million units sold worldwide, the Ford Transit delivers a global standard for full-size vans. The Transit is currently sold on 6 continents in 116 markets globally. The locally-assembled Transit will be sold domestically to meet customer demand for high-quality, reliable and affordable commercial vehicles in Malaysia.
The Ford Transit can be adapted to multiple commercial business applications. An array of smart and innovative features all help to improve the driving and ownership experience. Apart from that, the Ford Transit is equipped with a comprehensive safety package and security measures to ensure that the driver, passengers and cargo are protected at all times.
Available in two variants; the 13-seat Passenger Van and the Panel Van 350L, the Transit is powered by a 2.2L TDCi engine mated with a six-speed manual transmission.
