Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster and Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster now available

Why do we need another open-top two-seater in the market? Because Mercedes’ AMG GT Roadster and AMG GT C Roadster looks mighty fine. Just so you won’t get confused, the “entry-level” model is the AMG GT Roadster whilst the AMG GT C Roadster is slightly more upmarket. Placed right between the AMG GT S and the AMG GT R. Sounds like a mouthful. We covered pretty much the unveiling of these cars last year here.

“With our two Roadster models, we are strategically expanding the AMG GT family by two exciting variants. With the AMG GT C Roadster, we are also introducing a new model variant to which we have transferred main performance-related components from our top sports car, the AMG GT R. The result: a highly dynamic driving experience in a very exclusive ambience, coupled with that pure roadster feeling,” says Tobias Moers, Chairman of Mercedes-AMG GmbH.

With the addition of these two models, the Mercedes-AMG GT family has now increased to six in total. As per the AMG heritage, these two models also include the lightweight and torsionally rigid aluminium bodyshell plus powerful and efficient V8 biturbo engines. The entry level into the Roadster world is the Mercedes-AMG GT which produces 476 hp whilst the Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster gets a bump in power to 557 hp to make it stand out even more. To compare, the hard top AMG GT R produces 577 hp and the AMG GT S produces 517 hp.

The GT C Roadster furthermore features a lithium-ion battery and comes complete with a highly exclusive specification, with standard equipment and appointments including a nappa leather interior, the AMG Performance steering wheel in nappa leather/DINAMICA microfibre and the additional RACE mode.
