I seriously can’t wait to see the new Civic Type R in person, not only will it be the first turbo-charged Civic Type R, this looks absolutely bonkers and gorgeous.
Now Honda has decided to tease us with another video of the upcoming Type R and you get to hear its lovely exhaust. Oh, that lovely sound growling away.
Why is this intriguing? Well if you notice closely, the Civic Type R has 3 exhaust pipes sticking out at the back. Not all of them are of equal size. Car Throttle spoke with Honda and this is what they found out.
Type R Assistant Project Lead Hideki Kakinuma told Car Throttle that it “creates a certain negative pressure” at mid and high RPM, with the aim of reducing booming noise in the cabin while increasing overall volume.
