Naza Kia Malaysia, the official distributor of Kia vehicles in Malaysia has officially launched the much awaited all-new Grand Carnival 8-seater MPV into our local market.
Measuring at 5,115 mm long, 1,740 mm tall, 1,985 mm wide and with a wheelbase of 3,060 mm, the all-new Grand Carnival now features increased legroom space for all its passengers. It also has a higher headroom space due to the lower seat cushions and by design, the roof of the all-new Grand Carnival no longer slopes to the tailgate, allowing for the third row passengers to have an extra headroom as well.
In terms of its overall looks, the all-new Grand Carnival can be identified with a wide, upright ‘tiger nose’ grille – a Peter Schreyer trade mark – wrap-around headlamps and framed fog lamps. At the rear, the all-new Grand Carnival features wide rear lamps and broad metal surfaces thus giving it a solid character. For extra convenience, the Grand Carnival features a smart powered tailgate which opens automatically when the key is sensed in close proximity and two power sliding-doors which opens with a touch of a button.
The first thing you’ll notice when entering the all-new Grand Carnival’s cabin is the wide dashboard fitted with two glove compartments, one lying above the other. For the best comfort of its occupants, the Grand Carnival comes standard with leather wrapped seats, while the front and second row seats are treated with overhead consoles and tri-zone fully automatic air-conditioning ventilators.
To fully utilize and maximize the cabin space, the third row seats can be folded completely flat providing a larger baggage space. The second row is more flexible where an extra seat can be added or removed thus providing additional space for the third row passengers.
In terms of tech and gizmos, the all-new Grand Carnival comes equipped with a range of multimedia entertainment systems such as a MP3 CD player with 6 speakers, USB and AUX-in connectivity. It also comes with a 4.3 inch TFT LCD colour display touchscreen and is fitted with a rear view camera as standard. On top of that, front and rear parking sensors, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, foot parking brake and auto cruise control are also available as a standard features.
Under the hood, power is supplied by a 2.2-litre CRDi turbocharged diesel engine producing 190hp and 440Nm of torque, paired to a torque converter six-speed automatic transmission.
The list of safety features and driver technology found in the all-new Grand Carnival includes Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS), Brake Assist System (BAS), Hill-start Assist Control (HAC), Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), Antilock Braking System (ABS), 6 airbags, safety power windows and ISOFIX lock-in child seats.
Available in three variants, the all-new Grand Carnival is priced at RM153,888 for the 2.2D, RM165,888 for the 2.2DKX, and RM185,888 for the 2.2D EX. All prices are on-the-road price inclusive of GST and insurance.
